## Commentary

The half-length portrait of William Ffytch \(c. 1496-1578\) depicts a bearded man, wearing a badge with a crown and the royal arms, and a signet ring with arms: vert, a chevron gules between 3 leopards&#39; heads which is of the Fytch family.
