# Lost [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [STUCK, Franz von]() - Date: 1851-1900 - Technique: Oil on canvas, 48 x 46 cm ## Commentary Mythological subjects continued to occupy Stuck throughout his career, the more striking among his works were single figures rather than groups, and scenes of almost hieratic majesty rather than vigorous movement, for example, the distressing vision of a wounded faun in the snow, Lost \(1891; Belvedere, Vienna\).
