Medals and coins
COMMENTARY
In the first period of his career, Cellini produced coins, medallions, seals, and a variety of other objects. In Rome he was employed not only in the working of jewelry, but also in the execution of dies for private medals and for the papal mint. IN Florence, in the service of Alessandro de Medici, first duke of Florence, he executed coins.
