Raimondo D'Aronco emerged as a victor in the competition to build the main pavilionA lightly constructed, ornamental building, such as a garden summerhouse; a small, ornamental structure built onto a palace or cháteau; a prominent section of a monumental façade, projecting either centrally or at both ends. for the Turin Exposition in 1902. His style shows the influence of buildings by the Viennese architect Joseph Maria Olbrich and the Darmstadt artists' colony. However, it has a variety of individual touches derived from his encounter with the Orient.
