Powerful giant half-columns on high pedestals, and a deeply overhanging entablatureIn classical architecture, the part of a building between the capitals of the columns and the roof. It consists of the architrave, the frieze, and the cornice. with its own corbelling lend a dynamic to the façadethe front or principal face of a building, especially one elaborately constructed; a blind façade is a façade that is purely decorative and does not relate to the structure of the building., which is deeply recessed behind this system of projections. The monumentality of Roman architecture is combined with Iberian surface decoration. The Clerecia courtyard is therefore completely independent of French and Italian court architecture of the Bourbon regime.
