Don Juan II and Doña Isabel of Portugal were the parents of Isabel the Catholic, their tomb is the masterpieceA term now loosely applied to the finest work by a particular artist or to any work of art of acknowledged greatness or of preeminence in its field. Originally it meant the piece of work by which a craftsman, having finished his training, gained the rank of'master' in his guild. of Diego de Siloé. The reclining statues are separated by fine cresting. The sepulcher group, whose contours form an eightpointed star, constitutes an impressive work of art, in which remarkable are the expressive naturalness of the king's faces, which reflect their sleeping state, the lovely modeling of the jewels and vestments, the splendid execution of the sculptures which represent numerous allegorical figures.
