Fernando Yáñez (or Yáñez de la Almedina), Spanish painter. He is first documented in 1506 in Valencia, where in 1507-10 he collaborated with Fernando de los Llanos in painting twelve panels of the Life of the Virgin for the main altarpieceGLOSSARYA picture or sculpture that stands on or is set up behind an altar. It was a subject of a fresco painted by Leonardo da Vinci in the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence (chosen because it was primarily a cavalry engagement and he could show horses in combat).
