The three-dimensional "broken" façadethe front or principal face of a building, especially one elaborately constructed; a blind façade is a façade that is purely decorative and does not relate to the structure of the building. produce a filigree effect in spite of the monumental proportions, but are far more static than the contemporary structures in Germany.The plasticity of the wall is combined here with the continuing use of the "carpet" surface treatment, a style of ornament which had been prevalent in Spain for centuries.
