Heinrich Keller was a talented Swiss sculptor who in Rome bridged the gap between the art of Alexander Trippel and Thorvaldsen, whose Jason with the Golden Fleece bears some slight resemblance to Keller's work.
Heinrich Keller grew up in a cultured home and had an early success as a classicalRelating to the culture of ancient Greece and Rome (classical Antiquity). The classical world played a profoundly important role in the Renaissance, with Italian scholars, writers, and artists seeing their own period as the rebirth (the "renaissance") of classical values after the Middle Ages.
